I was just wondering what anyone thought about an HP Omnibook 6000. My friend has one he wnts to get rid of because he bought a new one and is willing to sell it to me very cheap($100 US). It has a 60GB hard drive, 14" screen, 512MB of Ram and he's giving me a wifi card, the floppy drive with cable to attach it externaly and all the other stuff the laptop came with like the power cord and such. It is currently running Windows XP PRO and only has minor surface scratches. I was thinking of dual booting it with Ubuntu Linux. Any sugestions or comments would be welcome.

I have an Omnibook 6000 running Fedora Core 4 and Windows XP. Everything works great for me. I also put a Cisco wireless card in. I didn't have any problems with installation. The only problem I have is that its a little slow... but for that price I think I could deal with it.
