Hi, I new to forum here. I'm looking for an ultra-portable notebook but don't want to get too much smaller than the 12 inch display. I plan to install either debian-linux or gentoo on it.
I have really kept abreast the notebook market. I hear that Toshiba and the IBM thinkpad are suppossed to be ranked the best. Does anyone the specific models of these that are of the 12" size?
I'd like to find one with no operating system (IOW, no msft tax). It seems that with Thinkpads, you WILL buy Windows XP so maybe I might try second hand on one of them.
Does anyone have any other recommendations and how much should I expect to pay?
