Hi !
I have just successfully installed SusE10 64-bit for AMD architecture on an Acer Ferrari 4000, and am currently running
Gnome, open office.
Using the SuSE installer YAST2 goes ok, but after rebooting the screen goes blank (at least mine did !)
Crtl-Alt-Backspace works to kill the x-server, but it keeps coming up. After killing the server a few times you have get a
message saying that the server will re-start in 2 minutes
I used MC to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and added the following lines to the "Device" section of xorg.conf:
Option "CRT2Position" "clone"
Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS,CRT"
After rebooting the graphical desktop loaded ok.
Using MC to look at /etc/X11/xorg.conf
now showed only:
Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS,CRT"
Sincerely
Mark Rawlins
